Recommendations 

Recommendations according to the Air Quality Index:

  • 0-50: Good air quality and air pollution present low or any risk.
  • 51-100: Acceptable air quality, however, people especially sensitive to air pollution should consider limiting physical exercise outdoors. If you are in one of the vulnerable groups, you should avoid doing physical exercise or activities that require effort outdoors and try to reduce the time you spend outdoors.
  • 101-150: Children and adults that do physical activities and people with respiratory diseases should avoid excessive physical effort and prolonged time outdoors. It is recommended to reduce the time that you spend out if you feel symptoms such as difficulty breathing or throat irritation.
  • 152-200: Everyone can experience the effects on their health, especially vulnerable groups in which the effects will be more serious. The general population should reduce prolonged exposure and doing physical exercise or activities that require effort outdoors. You should try not to stay out for a long time in more polluted areas, such as streets with a lot of traffic, especially during peak hours when pollution is higher.
  • 201-250: Alert, everyone can experience effects on their health, especially vulnerable groups in which the effects will be more serious. These groups should avoid physical effort outdoors, the rest of the people, especially children, should limit their physical effort outdoors. Furthermore, if you suffer from respiratory diseases and your symptoms worsen or are prolonged in time, talk to your doctor, or go to emergency service.
  • 301-55: Health emergency alert. It is possible that the entire population would be affected, so every physical effort outdoors should be limited.
